I had been waiting two years to do this. Ever since me and my best friend Sarah came back from Dublin. My only other piercing is through the top of my ear. I had this done instead of my tongue (which we originally went in for but ours were too veiny) and I had always toyed with the idea of a PA. Finally I got it done. Sarah opted for the nipple, I went for the PA.
The worst thing about the whole experience was dropping my boxers in front of this strange tattooed man and having a conversation as well. The pain was minimal. It was minimal to the degeee that even one day after I can barely remember waht it was like.
This is just a quick note to say yes it was worth it, no it's not painful and it looks absolutely fantastic. Camera phones have allowed me to show it off without the sense of perspective some men may fear and the funniest thing is that the boys seem to respect it more than the girls at the moment.

Well I pretty much have everything pierced and would call my self an expert. I have my tongue, belly button, both nipples, eyebrow, 3 down below (both my lips and my hood), ears are pierced all the way up and I had my nose pierced but it grew closed and am planning on getting it done again! I also have two tattoos. Pain is so great, what a rush. Everyone should get either something pierced or get a tattoo it is great!!

I had wanted my tongue pierced for the longest time. I had even done it myself before. But then I let it close up...so about a month ago I went and got it done. I was ready for the pain...but there was none. It was a little sore but nothing I couldn’t handle. Felt weird at first, and I bit the balls on the barbell a lot...which made my teeth hurt...but now I am used to it, and I changed the barbell...and to my surprise, when I took the tongue ring out...I had trouble talking! I love it and I can't wait to get another body piercing...where, I'm not sure yet...lol
ok so im 16 and I really want my belly button pierced! I had asked my parents around the beginning of summer '02 and

I have wanted my tongue pierced for a long time but did'nt have the courage till recently.
It's been almost 3 weeks since I got it done & I love it. I had very little swelling. It was
weird at first getting used to a barbell in my mouth trying to eat but other than that no problem.
I am so happy with it. The place I got it done was very clean & professional. The lady sat me down &

I got mine (cartlidge piercing) done today after waiting a few years, I wanted to wait till I was
18 so my parents didn't have to sign for me! I thought from what I had heard
that it was going to hurt alot more but I guess maybe i was just used to it,

im 16 and have been wanting my bellybutton pierced for about a year. So
finally after alot of convincing my dad took me to get it done. Well the
piercing did not hurt (of course the fact that my piercer was really hot)
probably helped alot. The only thing that i did not like about the piercing
is that it is red around the top hole and that makes it look infected. I
have had it for about 6 months now and nothing has ever gotten caught on it.
Also people say that pants irritate it alot but i never had any trouble with
it at all. I love my piercing!!!!!!!!
Hey, this isn't really a piercing experience, more of the pre-piercing jitters! This comment is directed to anyone looking into a piercing of any kind.
I am a retail clothing manager in a suburban area mall. Daily I
receive compliments, questions, concerns from the general public
concerning my body art expression. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not
decked to the nine's with stainless steel, but tastefully decorated!
I would like to share my experiences in this work environment with my
peers.
The company I work for is very open-minded towards appearance, life
choices and personal demeanor is also without judgment, so perhaps I
lucked out or just have good karma. Two years ago I was stuck in a job
that sucked and grew weary of the constant take the piercing out, put
it back in.....so I applied to a company as an assistant retail manager
on a whim (and a bet with one of my cronies). I thought i would be too
casual, out there or not "fashion forward" enough to sell. To my
surprise I was hired within the week and movin' up quick.
Now I sit as manager of that store, and let me tell you that almost
half of all the conversations that are started with me are concerned
with a piercing or two. You wouldn't believe the sales I have clinched
all due to my piercing. Mother's like it cause I won't lie and say they
didn't hurt for discouraging tactics, teens like it cause they
themselves would love to have a job that allows freedom of expression
and my employers love it as it is a huge draw into their store.
So to anyone afraid to go out and pierce their tragis or their
tongue, naval or septum, do it, who knows maybe I'll hire you and you
will see it's not a hindrance but an expression that no one will want
to stifle!

When i thought about getting my bellybutton pierced, i didnt think there was
too much to worry about. (Wrong) I did it anyway, it didnt hurt when i got it
done at all but about 5 months later it got infected and had to take it out.

Well here's my story- I got my first piercing at 16, it was my tongue and I did it myself, it was crooked and after about 6 months I took it out. But when I was 17 I got it done by a pro. Since then I added about 17 more. First I got two upper cartiledge on my ears-boring. Then I got both my nipples done horizontally. After that I got 4 more in my lobes which are 8 guages now. Then I got both tragus' done. Then I got both my nipples done again but vertically. Later I got my left conch(not too painful) done, and have had 1 more upper cartiledge, my Rook, and my Helix done. The rook and helix are the two ridges that are horizontal in your ear and are just above the ear canal. Both of these were very painful but well worth it. I also have stretched my tongue to a 2 guage and I got my septum pierced(12 guage). I had all my work done in Class Act Tattoo in Puyallup,WA. i wasreading about the jump from a gun to a 2 in a matter of 2 weeks... i
basically did the same but the first time i stretched my lobe i went from the
gun to a 6 ga. and i didnt get any infections that i was supposed to get like
everyone told me i would get, and within 2 weeks i stretched it to a 00, hurt

I got my bellybutton pierced about 3 weeks ago and i love it soooo much!!!
It's like the greatest thing I've ever done. I dont really deal with pain
well but it really wasn't bad at all. I closed my eyes when i had it done and
i felt some pain but now bad, and when i opened my eyes...i was pierced! Its
been pretty red since i got it but its not sore and it only hurt the first
day. I recommend it to everyone!

days ago, and tonight when I went to clean it...putting the hot water on it
to soak, it started bleeding a little. I don't think it is infected because
I have been cleaning it as much as I should, but I don't know. What should I

Well, I haven't had my eyebrow done as of yet, in three days time I will have though. Me and a couple of friends are all getting something pierced, some having there chin, some having the navel, and me , getting my eyebrow done.
First of all, a little about my family history. My mother spacked when I asked to get my belly button pierced at age 12 and told me that "If I was still stupid at age 16, she would give her consent". Well I turned 16 about 1 month ago and I didn't let up, I held her to her word. On my 16th I said "Mum, I'm still stupid, do you know what that means?". So on my birthday she took me to THE PIERCING SHOP (that's it's name, pretty original isn't it?? hehehe!) and then I got my belly done. She really is glad that I got it done, cause well I dance and you can see it alot. Much to my dance teachers disgust, lots of the other parents like it too.
So when I told mum that I was getting an eyebrow ring, she didn't take it too well, she said that she was very disappointed in me, and she thought that I was a bit more mature than that, but she said that she would give her consent cause she knew I'd go behind her back anyway! I've just let her read some of the other experiences on this page, and now she is a little more understanding about it, she still won't like it, she says I'm being REBELLIOUS, but hey, once I get it done I'm sure she'll come round just like with the belly button ring!!

I really wanted my naval pierced but was really scared just to get it done, I was so scared before the guy did it that I almost just told him not too. Well I got it done and I'm glad I got it professionally. It hurt a little but felt like a hard pinch to almost be exact. For the first day I felt like a pregnant lady everytime I sat down. I got my tongue pierced 6 days ago and the swelling has finally gone way.
Its not sore any more and I can eat pretty well. My problem is that it
keeps bleeding, when I got it done and when it was healing it never bled, so
why is it now and what should I do. It looks normal and feels alright so I
don't think its infected but it is really freaking me out.

I got my tounge pierced about two months ago. My boyfriend and I went to a place that we new really nothing about, we learned our lesson, the guy pierced our tounges almost at the very tip. The piercer was nice and everything but he really didn't know what he was doing, my boyfriends was tilted to the side and mine was not in the middle. The piercing part of it wasn't that bad though, it was the week after that was horrible! I couldn't eat and I couldn't talk all that well. My boyfriend took his out because it was so far forward he could hardly talk at all. I am used to mine now but I wish we would've done our research before we just went somewhere and got it done.

Well I got my first piercing when I was about 3 years old (my ears). Then when I was about 15 I got my second holes in my ears and at least one new piercing every year since. I got my naval pierced when I was 16 and it hurt like hell. I had my best friend and her mother do it for me because my mother wouldn't let me have it done.(I wasn't old enough to sign for myself) Then about six months later I went away to school and I got my tongue done. Since then I have accumulated 5 holes in my right ear and 3 in my left. I am 18 now so I am probably going to either get something pierced or a tattoo after graduation. I'm 14 and in south east England you also have to be 16 years old to have
any part of your body pierced. I'd always wanted to have my eyebrow pierced
but I knew my mum wouldn't let me so I did it myself in the bathroom at

I'm 30, female, had my navel pierced last May. My friend had me psyched up
for a ton of pain (hers is NOT pierced) and it didn't hurt AT ALL. It felt
mostly like getting an injection.
It's still not fully healed; it heals and then gets a little sore, and heals
again. But it looks pretty good and I love it.

My name is Kym and i had my tongue pierced 2 weeks ago it is completely
healed and i love it to death. i am the biggest cry baby and i mean it i
cried when i had a blood test but my tongue didn't hurt and it bleed for
about 2 minutes and stopped. Though i was told i wouldn't want to see my
friends or go out afterwards i did and i had a great time

I got my naval pierced in May and I love it. For anyone who has a
slight infection go to a drug store and buy hibiclense (a behind the
counter non perscription soap) and your infection will be cleared up in
two days. It worked for me and I am enjoying my piercing very much:)

I just got my navel pierced and it seems infected but my doctor said it was
just an allergic reaction to the stainless steal metal ring. What did your
infection look like? Was it painful? How long did it take for it to go
away. Please give me some answers, I don't know what to do about it!

Hi, I'm Jay. I have wanted to get my tounge pierced for some time and after
several times of pussin' out I finally got into the chair. The piercer comes
to me with a clamp and and a needle tells me, "it won't hurt a bit". He then
sticks me, not hurting much to my suprise. "Oh no," says the man," I used the
wrong clamps." He had to take the barbell back out and redo the whole thing.
The second time hurt like hell. If you ask me though, I'd do it again.

When I got my belly button pierced it was pretty cool cause it kinda hurt and
then it kinda didn't, it was a masachistic pain, which I feel I couldn't live
without, I'm glad I had it done, but my nipple was ten times better on the
experience scale.

When i first started streching my ears i went from 12 guage loop to a 6
gauge plug and when i pushed it through it ripped and my earlob was
ripped into peaces so i got a thread and needle and put to holes in each
side of the flaps of skin and sowed it togther and it some what worked .
And the skin over lapped and itnfucked up and i had to get it fixed it
by a docter.

what the hell was I thinking? this shit hurt like hell my nipple is still throbbing. I'm just hoping can get through this I feel like my boob is going to come off. so let it be know it does hurt and it hurts really bad.

I've had my nipples pierced with 12 gauge rings, but I thought that they were to small. I took them out, and now I want to re pierce them with 8 gauge rings. I had thought about enlarging the actual first piercing, but then found out that enlarging a nipple piercing can cause the nipple to sag or grow cyst tissue. I've read that by piercing with a large gauge, the nipple heals better and won't sag.
The only problem I'm having, is trying to get an 8 gauge hollow needle. Could you tell me where I could order one from. If I had a business, then I could order a needle without a problem, but I don't. I can assure you that I am experienced and I know what I'm doing.

I am a little collander! I have 13 piercings...both nipples done, and
next I will get a labrette....I love piercing! But a bit of
warning....nothing I have ever experienced in my life hurt as much as
getting my nipples done....It was the worst thing in the world!!!
but they do look great now....and, ummm they feel pretty good now! hee

I haven't gotten anything pierced yet (except my ears, 8 holes) but I go in
three weeks to get my belly button done. I am not afraid at all but I want
my tounge pierced 3 times and right above the side of my lip. Wish me
