I already had 3 in my left ear when I decided to pierce it all the way up. I went to Zebra in Berkeley to do this... they have done all my piercings (now totalling 19, going from 18 gauge to 8 gauge). I am nowhere near done º:-·)º
In one day, I had 1 curved barbell and 5 captive ball rings (hematite balls) running up the outer cartlidgeous ear (all 14 gauge), plus a captive ball ring in the tragus (18 gauge, hematite ball). Amongst others I had that day.
Ooooooooooo did it hurt! The first one hurt as one would expect. The pain grew as we moved up the ear... a combination, I believe, of the natural pain of piercing cartlidge combined with increased sensitivity. My piercer asked if I needed a break, but I was doing OK.
Boy, did (and does) it look good!!!!!!!!
My ear hurt severely for about 6 hours, with a kind of burning pain. And, big surprise, my ear was beet red for a few days.
It is now about 3 weeks after the piercing and the ear is slightly reddened, a bit painful (not much), and healing nicely. And..... looks good!
Yesterday I started on the Right ear with my first 4 piercings, all curved barbells, not going thru cartlidge yet..
