I'm Matt, ive only had my lobe pierced before, when i was about 12, and but i lost interest in it and now its healed up. I wanted a labret for quite a while and finally saw my chance while on holiday this summer in teneriffe. My friend wanted a tattoo dun, but that didnt really appeal to me, but i noticed that the same place done peircings too, and the piercer, James, had his labret pierced, and i thought i may hav been able to get it. i wasnt too sure how to approach my mum about it as she had seen it and didnt like it. i begged and pleaded for 2 weeks, and she said no, even when we spoke to james in the bar that we went to, and after speaking to the bar owners about their tattoo piercing experiences. i came bak with nothing done.
I went bak for christmas this year (2002) and met up with all the people i had met in the summer, again i tried to convince my mum it was ok, but she wasnt having it. she actually wanted a tattoo so i tried the 'if you get a tattoo, i can get a piercing' line, but it didnt work. in the end she chickened out, but i went bak and explained to james that she wasnt letting me get my labret pierced so ill get something else, i wasnt to sure at the time what. after about 5 minutes i decided on the conch, james had it and i thought it looked good, and i had never seen it before. i asked about it and he said it was sore, i thought ok, and he managed to do it during a break while he was tattooing this huge guy, he didnt mind.
he set up and i spoke to the other guy, james called me back and i sat down ready. he showed me what he was gonna put through my ear and it looked fine to me. he cleaned my ear up, marked my ear and picked up the needle. he then said 'this is gonna hurt like hell' and the needle went through, i didnt feel much pain at all, probably less than my lobe. he then put in the bar and bingo, all finished, he gave me a tissue to wipe any blood because its meant to bleed on and off for a few hours, but it didnt bleed at all. i got up, and shook his hand as i was flying bak in a few hours, said byt and nearly walked out, forgetting to pay, james reminded me.
I came bak home a couple of days ago, and ive read some other experiences and they nearly all say it hurts alot, im glad i didnt read these before coz i wouldnt hav got it dun. i went to a party the day i got bak and i got loads of ooohs and ahhhhs and people saying that they hadnt seen it before, which was cool, unfortunately my friend managed to headbutt me in the ear and it bloody hurt, but it was ok after a few minutes. there hav been a few scabs while ive cleaned it but nothign to worry about. im really glad about the piercing, and hoping for more in the future
