People used to think that I'm nuts. Now, I guess they have proof. For the longest time now, I've always wanted to have some kind of piercing. I dunno why, I guess I was just fascinated by the idea. I can't say that I have a high tolerance for pain. I don't mind needles, but I won't go out of my way to get a shot. A friend of mine came by my house one day and told me that she wanted to show me something. She did. Her tongue was pierced. Bad ass! So okay, I decided I am going to get something pierced too, my right eyebrow. I've always wanted that done. I don't want to look back 20 years from now and say, I should've or I could've.... life's too short.
Thursday...payday. I decided to go to the mall to get my eyebrow done. I was all psyched up and just ready to go when lo and behold, when they asked for my driver's license (proof of legal age, etc.) they said that they couldn't accept it. "Why the hell not?" I asked, they got me on a technicality. My license was expired. So okay, the next day I went to the DMV to renew it. Toting my brand new driver's license, I called the same place in the mall to get my piercing done. Guess what? The guy that does the piercing just left for the day. It's a friday night, I got my brand new license, I just got paid, I am anxious to get my piercing done... then this happens? Damn! So I went to my friend's house all bummed out. Turns out, she didn't get her piercing done over in the mall. She got it done someplace else. After making a quick phone call she told me to get in her car and off we went to this other place. She told me that we better hurry before I chicken out on her. She even brought her girlfriend along to watch me get it done.
We arrived at the place. I was kinda nervous. But not because I was about to get poked. I was nervous because of the horror stories I have heard concerning unsanitary stuff, infections, etc. etc. I signed in, filled the forms, flashed my brand new driver's license and paid for my piercing. I waited for about 7 minutes. Then Jayson called me into the room. "You ready?" he asked. " 'bout time" I say. I followed him into the room. I told my friends (there were about 3 of them with me) not to follow. I kinda wanted to do this on my own. But what did Jayson do? He invited them in the room with me. So I thought, what the hell. If I am going to do this, I might as well have an audience.
I sat there in the chair still as can be as he marked the spot. I let out a scream just for the hell of it, which kinda scared him. I told him that was just a "practice" scream. (I did other things joking around after that too) We both chuckled. I think I got him nervous. Then he proceeded with the so called pep talk and then clamped my brow. I still haven't moved, but my eyes were closed by that time. I felt him push the needle through and the blood just trickled down my cheek. I felt him thread the ring into the hole then he says "you're done, you awake?" I opened my eyes, only to find my friends staring at me with their mouth gaped open. All they can say was, "I can't believe you just sat there and didn't even flinch or scream". Tell me something, why should I? I kinda liked it. Not that I take pleasure in pain or anything. It's just for some odd reason, I liked the way he pierced me.
I guess I am supposed to keep that area cleaned 3 times a day. Which I do with dial unscented antibacterial soap. So far, no infection whatsoever, not even the slightest bit of swelling. I might get another one done, perhaps my tongue. I don't really know. For right now, I am enjoying my 5 day old piercing. You can email me at yummee@mail.com if you wanna talk about your experience or what not.
