I'm 21, and I got my eyebrow pierced about a week ago. I'm living in Santiago, Chile for awhile, and I decided to finally go through with it, so I looked around and found a clean clinic where they do piercings and tatoos. The place is called Pua Tatuajes, and it's located at Marcoleta 520 in Santiago. I highly recommend them, they did a great job, and it especially important to be careful with sterilization and things in developing countries. As for the piercing itself, I was pretty nervous, but I went with a friend who talked to me and held my hand. First the piercer, Gabriel, drew two little dots marking where the needle would puncture my skin, and when I said that looked ok, he clasped my eyebrow with a clamp, and then put the needle in, from the top side of my eyebrow. I was expecting it to hurt more than it did. As it was, it hurt about as much as donating blood, or pinching your finger accidentally. It was over very fast, the needle left a little plastic tube in the hole, and Gabriel slid the ring in through that and then slid out the plastic. Then he arranged the little ball on the ring, and just like that, I was done.
As I said before, he did a great job- my eyebrow barely swelled, and I had no bruising under my eye. Gabriel said it's really important to clean it at least twice a day, turning it so every part gets clean. "If it gets stuck, then it gets infected," he said to me. I've had no problems so far, although sometimes it itches or burns a little bit. The whole process has been remarkably un-traumatic, and I would say to anyone who is thinking about an eyebrow piercing that they should go for it.
