So I finally got my eyebrow pierced about a wekk and a half ago. I had been
wanting to do it since the beginning of November; however, I play ice hockey
and I had to wait until practice was over for the semester because I figured
that combining a new piercing with my helmet would not be a bright idea. So
on December 13th, I took the metro to a place called Grafixx. For anyone who
lives in DC, I highly recommend this place. It's really clean and hygenic and
my piercer, Matt, was extremely nice and good at his job. I ended up having
to go alone-a friend was supposed to go with me but she was taking a nap and
didn't want to get up. (Maura, if you're reading this, I'm still bitter about
that!) Anyway, I wasn't as nervous as I would have expected I'd be,
especially considering that I'm a pain wimp. This really didn't hurt that
much though. In fact, getting my ears peirced was a lot more painful than the
eyebrow, and a friend of mine who got his tongue pierced had more pain
getting that done. Don't ask me what the piercer did or anythin...I kept my
eyes shut the whole time so I really don't know. I got my initial piercing
done with a ring, and I would recommend this because they are a lot easier to
clean. I am going to switch to a barbell though, because of hockey. My advice
to people considering getting their eyebrow pierced is to KEEP IT CLEAN. I
was a little squeamish about doing this at first, and it stung a little, but
it's really really important. Also, don't touch it unless you have to and
don't let other people touch it. This will help keep it from getting
infected. I would definitely recommend eyebrow piercing to people...this was
my first "real" piercing (other than ears) and I love it! It looks really
great and it attracts a lot of attention. One thing I am kind of paranoid
about is rejection. If anyone has any information about what makes an eyebrow
piercing be rejected or advice on how I can keep this from happening, please
e-mail me at kmak427@yahoo.com....thanks! And if you have any questions, feel
free to ask me!
