My body has always taken really well to piercings... I have 7 in each ear, a tongue ring, a navel ring, & I used to have my labret pierced (I took it out when I got pregnant.). For 9 months while I carried my daughter, I contemplated which piercing I would get first after she was born. When my daughter was 3 weeks old, I went to the tattoo parlor that I frequent (Lizard Lounge in Kissimmee, FL), planning on buying a new tongue ring because I was bored with mine. While I was there, I saw the cutest eyebrow ring laying in the case... a simple star on the end of a barbell.. I LOVE stars, so I decided to get my eyebrow pierced just so I could wear this beautiful piece of jewelry... I know it sounds like a stupid reason to get pierced, but I thought "why the hell not?!?!". The piercing itself was painless... all I could feel were the forceps that were used to hold the skin- nothing was used to numb it. The piercer- I think his name was Jason, but I could be wrong- told me that it would be swollen & bruised for a while, so I went home expecting it to hurt. Surprisingly, it didn't hurt... to this day it hasn't hurt except for when I would rub my eyes in the middle of the night.. and it never got swollen or bruised. The only way I could judge whether it had healed or not was by the amount of crusties that I had to clean off, as gross as that sounds. It took about 3 weeks, but I heard this is not normal. Anyways, all I did was wash my face like I usually did & pick the crusties off because they grossed me out & it was fine.
I decided to share my story after readong others experiences that were so different than mine, I figured it would be comforting for others to read because I have never had a problem with ANY of my piercings, so they're not all bad.
