just a little note prior to continuing on...i have read and have been told by members of the rec.arts.bodyarts newsgroup that you probably should not jump much more that 2 gauges with each stretching (eg...from 4ga to 2ga is what they would recommend, not 8ga to 2ga)....you should probably have your piercer take a good look at your ear before stretching up to a large gauge....
i have been doing alot of looking around and after seeing more and more of the stretched lobes, i decided that that's for me.
about 5 weeks ago, i wandered down to primal urge in new hope, pa (http://www.primal-urge.com/) and spoke to the folks there about streching my lobe...they looked me over and said that it looked like i could probably strech my gun pierced lobe to a 14ga SS plug..so up into the chair i hop and in went the taper, in goes the plug....no pain, no problems, no crusties...i was able to sleep on it beginning that evening without problems...
two weeks later, i streched up again....this time from 14ga SS plug to 8ga SS plug...basically the same thing this time...in goes the taper, in goes the plug....a little bit of the stingies this time...but again, no real pain, problems or crusties.....
waited about 2 1/2 weeks again and just last night took a big jump....my piercer wanted me to go from the 8ga to a 0ga....whoa...pretty big stuff...he said that he could to it with three tapers and a little bit of time...i eventually settled on going to 2ga....i sit down...in goes the first taper...not too bad...in goes the second taper...wow...that was the biggest rush ever....when he had the taper in and was getting the plug ready to go in i just sort of sat there and enjoyed the feeling....went to bed without any real pain and again no crusties....the only strange feeling this time was the tightness in the ear around the plug...neat feeling but it is loosing up by the day....
so here i am sporting a new 2ga red acrylic plug and dreaming of when i can move up to the 0ga or a 00ga...boy i can't wait but should probably wait about 3 weeks or so...
