well... here goes it. the first piercings ive ever had were just normal
ear piercings in each ear, done when i was about 6 months old.
naturally, i dont remember ever getting them done. and because of my
fear of needles and/or the like (ive only had blood taken from a vein
twice), i never ventured to get any other piercings done, not even
second holes in my lobes. well after weeks and weeks of wanting a
piercing, i knew what i was gonna get done -- my septum. i figured its
easily concealable, yet unique, cuz not a lot of people that i knew had
a septum piercing. in fact, no one i knew had one.
so me and my friend fav started out on the highway early that night.
first we met up at the oasis on 294 to get directions to this guy rudy's
shop who we heard would do the piercing for relatively cheap and who
does a very good job. so there we met up with adam and tom, but adam
didnt know the directions and so tom gave them to us. well after
driving around for about an hour with toms directions, we said "fuck it"
and decided to just drive around the vicinity because no matter what, i
was gonna get it done that night. i knew if i didnt do it that night, i
would chicken out and never get it done. well we finally found the place
on lincoln, which was so easy to get to if we had the right directions.
so anyway...
there i was at painless piercings in chicago. right before i walk in
the door, this guy walks in in front of me and asks me "so what are you
gonna have done today? a piercing?" and i said "yep", and he goes "oh
yea? what?" and im like "my septum". he goes "thats cool. have you
ever had a piercing done before?" i said "no". he smiles and says "so
youre goin for a big one eh???" and goes into this locked armoir and
retrieves this case of jewelry and asks me what i wanted. it was rudy!
oh great... its too late to turn back now. fav was getting her septum
done also but i insisted that i was going first so that i wouldnt
chicken out and seeing her writhe in pain and scream out in pure agony.
so there i am, sitting on the doctors office-like table, and rudy is
explaining the aftercare procedures and then i fill out the form that
says their not responsible if i die and stuff. then he gets on with
it. he rubs the iodine in my nostrils, and holds the receiving tube and
the needle up against my septum and eyes the correct angle. he told me
"just close your eyes" and i said NO. i HAD to watch. then hes likes
"ok im gonna count to three. one... two... now take a deep breath in
through your nose (i did)... THREE". POP. "breathe out through your
mouth." i heard it go through and suddenly felt these tears streaming
down my face, not from the pain though. they just watered for some
reason. i look down and theres this long needle on BOTH sides of my
nose!!! then he threaded the curved barbell in and screwed on the ball
and VOILA! it was all done! i loved it. rudy wanted to show me how to
flip it in and out but i said "NO". i was still in shock and didnt want
him to touch it. but i was pleased. ive had no problems with it,
except the night i got it pierced i went to dennys and when it was time
to flip it up, IT WOULDNT GO UP!!! it hurt like a bitch when i moved it
and my nostrils just seemed too small. well my pierced-many-many-times
friend adam came out to the car, unscrewed the balls, and helped me
stuff it in there. the next day, i was problem free.
well 2 days later, i decided to go in and get a second ear pierced.
just a regular piercing. well i was thinking maybe 14 guage or
something, which was the guage i got in my septum. well rudy said how
about 10? but i was still too chicken so i agreed to a 12 guage. i
didnt even feel it. i had a nice captive bead ring put in it and i love
it.
well 2 days after that i decided to get a hole put in my left ear. this
time i opted for a lateral lobe piercing, 18 guage i think, but it goes
the length of my lobe rather than from front to back. the tiny barbell
is so cute, and i play with it all the time, and it healed like in 2 or
3 days.
ok then like 4 days or so after that i got an industrial project, 14
guage barbell. it looked HUGE when he showed it to me. and i must say,
this was the most painful one ive had, but i didnt even cry. first he
(rudy had done all my other piercings, but this time douglas john did it
-- hes only the second person in the world to have one going through his
ankle and he invented the lateral lobe piercing about 5 years ago)
popped the first one in and it really hurt but i just sat there kinda
shaking, and he asked me if i was ready for the second one... i needed
to take a breather. so i sat for about 2 minutes and then said i was
ready but as he picked up the needle, my head drifted farther and
farther away from him. the only comfort i had was that rudy was
watching (as he was saying "man judy, i can remember when you first came
in here and didnt have any piercings at all") on and so was fav. so i
scooted closer to him and felt the pop of the second one. "FUCK!" i
said and it did hurt. my hands were clenched in a fist and i had to
hold my legs so they wouldnt kick all over the place. it took about 5
minutes for him to get the ball on and stuff, and i was just shaking.
finally, it was done, and i love it so much. as i left the shop, rudy
jokingly says "bye. see ya tomorrow". heheh. yea it hurt the next few
days and sometimes it still gets stuck on my hair and i yank on it and
it kills, but its worth it. im still getting crusties and stuff, but i
can finally move it in and out without dying.
so in less than 2 weeks i had 4 piercings. and im getting a conch
piercing done and one more lobe piercing in the next 2 weeks. then ill
take a breather... my fiance is not pleased at all about my piercings,
even the ear ones... i love him and respect him so ill take a breather
from the piercings until i can persuade him to get some with me. :-)
btw, go to painless piercings on lincoln in chicago for excellent
service. see ya tomorrow rudy!!! :-)
UPDATE UPDATE
hi there. well i wrote one of these not too long ago, 8/28 i think.
well ive gotten more since then. in my last little entry, i had a 14g
septum curved barbell, 12g lobe cbr, 18g lateral lobe barbell, and 14g
industrial. well not too long after that i got 8g stainless steel plugs
put in each lobe. the endorphine rush was amazing... ive never gotten
such a strange yet fascinating tickling sensation in my right butt
cheek. real weird... i bled a lot, but then again, im a bleeder. some
people are, some arent. then about 3 days ago, i got a very very very
tiny 16g cbr in my upper cart almost where my ear is attached to my
head. its real cute and simple and discreet. tomorrow night im getting
2 more identical ones right next to it. im getting holeyer and holyer
as the days go by...
