my friend diane and i planned for about a month and a half to get our navals pierced.. we didnt tell anyone except our 1 friend who went with us. we went to canal st. 1st but we didnt have ID cz we were not 18 yet so we couldnt get it done there. so we looked up other places in a phone book and decided on 115 St Marks Place in NYC to get it done. it was like this really small bodega thing with these indian guys...dont ask me what i was thinking. i went first..im telling you right now tha experiance was terrible for me but probably just cz it was all not a really professional place. tha needles were clean to my knowlege b/c they were all wrapped up in never-been-used-before packages. tha top part of my naval was clamped by tha guy and then he put in tha needle..i wasnt worried about tha pain but about tha infection that i might get. (our parents still dont know to this day. if they did, im sure they would both rip tha banana barbel out of us.) if i got an infection, i would have to go to a doctor which means telling my parents. seeing how that just wasnt an option, i take very good care of it. ANYWAY, back to tha pericing part: he put tha needle in. it hurt very much. but THEN he tried putting tha barbel in (which is jeweled on tha bottom tha color purple) and i guess it was too big a guage b/c he had to take it out and RE-PIERCE it w a bigger needle. i could not believe tha pain.. it was tha worst i every felt in my life so far.... i felt very light-headed after. my friend's took a lot quicker but still hurt as much. if any1 is going to get this or any other part of their body periced, go to a sanitary place. it will save you from a lot of worrying about infections. it has been a month and a half since i got it done and it still pusses sometimes.
