Ok, I got my naval pierced December 18, about 3 months ago. It was definintely
a cool experience. I had wanted to pierce my naval ever since I was about 10
years old. So, when i was 15, i went for it. I went to Body Extremes in MA,
but when I showed up, all 4 naval piercers were out sick, so I was a little
disappointed. I went back a few days later, but made sure I called first to
make sure there would be a piercer there. Because I was underage, my mother
had to go with me, she didn't have a problem with that. When I got there I
picked out the ring (a plain old silver hoop with a silver ball) and filled
out somepapers. I had to show my birth certificate and all that, which
actually made me feel more comfortable because I knew they were very
professional. Then I got taken into a back room. The guy told me to sit down
and lift up my shirt. He cleaned my bellybutton and marked it. He then put a
metal clamp on it which was kind of uncomfortable. Then he took out the
needle... BIG ASS NEEDLE!! He asked if I was ready, and I said, "Yeah, go for
it." So he pushed it through. And honestly, it didn't hurt AT ALL. Im not
kidding, it felt worse when he put the clamp on it to begin with. After the
needle went in, he put a cork at the end to hold it there so he could get the
ring ready. I watched him do it, and when he waled away to get the ring, i
asked, "Wait, that's it?" He smiled and said that it was over. So, he then
inserted the ring, tightened it to clamp the ball, and I was done. I left a
very happy customer, and I still love the ring. It never got infected, and for
my birthday my mother bought me a little cross to hang off the ring. It's
really cute. But, I did mess up the ring when i tried to put the cross on
myself. It got so messed up, I had to go back to the piercing place to get it
fixed. The guy there told me to keep the demented ring "as a momento of what I
did to myself." So I still have it in a plastic bag. I dunno, maybe next I'll
get my tongue done...
