Hi, I decided to get my belly button pierced after several months of
consideration. I belly dance and it looked cool to decorate. I called
several of my friends and asked about their experiences. One told me to
get a type of numbing cream so that I wouldn't feel it. I probably
should have waited until the cream. I went to our local tattoo parlor
and piercing shop, informed them of what I wanted, and paid $40 to have
it done. They led me into a room in the back where I laid upon an
examining table(like the ones in a doctor's office). I was really
nervous and my mother came with me. He marked my navel with a purple
marker after he swabbed the area with an antiseptic. He lined up the
markings in the openings of the forceps and told me to lie back and
relax. Searing hot pain shot through my body as he inserting the hollow
needle. I moaned and squeezed my eyes shut tightly. When I opened
them, I looked down to see a ring in my navel. Another guy screwed the
ball in. and I was finished. They handed me a sheet of paper with some
instructions on it and I was good to go. This happened 2 hours ago, and
it still stings a little. I am glad that I got it pierced though. :)
