The first time I had my nipples pierced I was travelling in southeast
asia. I had stopped in Ko Phangan, Thailand, home of the Full Moon Party
for a few days amd found myself still there after a month. I met this Thai
woman who did piercing in her sketch store but after a month of Thai
whiskey it didn't really matter to me. She pierced me on the floor, on a
matress, handed me a fistful of codine and told me to ignore the aftercare
sheet she gave me but to use straight up rubbing alcohol to clean them.
I told her that it said to not use alcohol on them but she assured me
that, "it's different in the tropics", Several dirty hands, mouths, and a
lot of sweat and rubbing alcohol later, my nipples were so infected that it
hurt to breathe. What a shocker! I got on antibiotics, healed the
infection, and came back to the states.
I had them done again, this week, by a professional piercer in Bekeley.
What a difference... he didn't give me the fistful of codine but it was
painless and is already starting to heal. I'm pierced with 12g but I want
to go smaller eventually... hopefully MUCH smaller... but I'm not sure how
small I can go without the piercing rejecting?
Moral of the story: never do anything based on the logic of Thai whiskey.
