Well...I had talked the whole 'piercing my tongue' thing over with my mom a
few times, and each time, she told me Id be grounded for months and never see
the car again. But one day, I just said 'To hell with it' and asked my
friend to take me to the piercing gallary. When I got there, the guy told me
to fill out a form while he set up. After I was done, I sat down in his
chair (it looked kinda like a dentists chair) and he had me rinse out my
tongue with listerine (that was probably the worst part of it all) for about
3 minutes. You wouldnt think rinsing your mouth out with mouthwash would
sting...but, it hurts a crap load more then you would imagine. After I spit
out the listerine, he told me to stick out my tongue and he looked at the
underside so he could find the viens and put a clamp in the center of my
tongue. I was lucky I guess because they had plastic clamps for
tongues...anyone who has ever had to endure a metal clamp knows the pain Im
referring to :). Now, Ive had my nipple pierced, and I thought it was gonna
be as painful as that. But he stuck the needle through and I was suprised at
how little it hurt! I must admit, I bled like I was a hemophyliac...but the
majority of people dont. The pierced took a picture of my tongue (which is
now proudly displayed in his book of works at the shop!), I paid him the 60
bucks and I was gone. It didnt hurt much for the first few hours, but then
it started to swell and it hurt a little bit. I ate the next day VERY
CAREFULLY by pushing my food to the back of my mouth so it wouldnt touch my
tongue. Ibproufen helped a lot. My mom wouldnt have known if I didnt tell
her, but my dad saw it within the first half hour we were talking. Both took
it pretty well. My dad told me I had to take it out whenever I was visiting
at his house, but, I havent yet. At times, it hurt like a bitch and I
couldnt eat for the day, but, all in all, it was nothing compared to my
nipple piercing and Im glad I did it.
