I had always wanted to do something different for myself for my 21st birthday and thought 'hey why don't i pierce my tongue'. Since at 16 i pierced my nose and at 5 pierced my ears. So it was set i was going to pierce my tongue, i was just really facinated and interested how it would be and what would it look like. So i surfed the net found the right websites that answered all my doubts about the whole thing. So i prepared myself with another friend that if i pierced my tongue that she would get a tattoo. And we planned to do it on our pay day... which came around really fast but then my friend had a death in the family and decided to not get one and so i didn't get my tongue pierced........ so one day while shopping with my cousin i we went passed a body piercing studio and decided to get it done. So up the stairs i went, with my cousin asking me 20 questions if i really wanted to do this. I was greeted my a man called Dave. He was great... i told him i was nervous and that i wondering how painful it would be and if i could handle the pain. I felt at ease when Dave said i could have an anestetic... so i rinsed my mouth out with mouth wash and Dave assured me that it would only take about one minute and thought that was 'sweet as'. Then he sprayed the anestetic on and my tongue went numb then Dave got the forcep and i had to poke my tongue out as well as her pulled in then in two two's he pushed the nail through threaded the barbell through and screwed the ball on..... my tongue looked great and i really liked it. He gave me some helpful hints that helped the swelling and stuff. After i arrived home things were ok i sucked on ice and iceblocks and everything was fine until the next day. My tongue swelled up abit and it was a bit painful so i took some pain relief and then it was okay. The next day i decided to have something to eat and it was abit difficult but i managed to eat. I also discovered my lovely lisp and was made fun of by my flatmates which i never took to heart. The following day i had a wedding to go to and i was definitely going to eat so i took a double dose of pain relief and that was cool i had no troubles. That nite i got pretty trashed and expierieced the pleasure of my tongue piercing and recieved many compliments from my boyfriend. So thing were fine until i went to the mirror to check my tongue. To my horror i looked at my tongue and realise i had torn a bigger hole underneath my tongue which had caused the bottom of my stud to go inside my tongue and the hole was barely open. I was abit worried thinking what i could do... in the end i decided to leave the stud where it was and now it feels great. I love my piercing and would recommend it to anyone.. So if your thinking about it... just GO AND GET IT DONE!!!!
