Okay, let me start off by saying this: Every single person who has
submitted a tongue piercing story on this webpage is totally bullshitting
you. It hurts like HELL. Maybe it was worse for me because I got it farther
up than most do, or because my piercer was inexperienced, i'm not really
sure. All I can tell you is that it hurt terribly.
I had already had my eyebrow pierced for like 2 months when i decided i
wanted my tongue pierced also. My mom really didn't want me to, but finally
agreed(i'm 14, so i had to have a parent w/ me.) She had a horrible time
watching it get done.
When I got there I was really, really nervous. Shaking and everything.
The guy told me it didn't hurt that much when he had it done, so i was
feeling a little bit reassured. A very little bit. I don't even remember the
entire experience because i was so nervous and it hurt so much. But first he
made me rinse with listerine for 2 minutes. Then he had me put my tongue out
and put metal clampers on the front of it, which i didn't think hurt(everyone
else says they do). Then he just took a needle and stuck it through from the
bottom up. It was horrible, and it hurt really bad. I don't know if he was
very experienced, and like i said, he pierced mine farther up than most
people have it, so maybe that added to the pain.
All I can tell you is that everybody reacts differently to piercings. But
think about it this way, if someone were just putting a needle through your
tongue to torture you, not to pierce you, it's the same thing. You never
think about it like that, but the pain is still the same. So that's something
to think about.
Getting a needle put through any part of your body is painful, and that
is the bottom line. But I would never ever regret my tongue or my eyebrow
piercing, I love them both. I live in a small conservative Iowa town, and I
like to be different and stand out. So if you're thinking about doing this,
and you're really serious about it, then do it. Now I really want to get my
