I pierced my tongue myself, although i advise that the faint of heart
should not attempt this. i sterilized a safety pin in alcohol of an
hour and the most pain of the piercing day was numbing up my tongue with
ice; not too bad. i held cubes to the bottom of my tongue till they
melted for about 15min and poked the safety pin through on the bottom
side just in front of the web (be advised i talked with a few piercers
and asked them where a piercing would go). then i numbed the top and
poked the pin through and clipped it together. the next day i bought a
bar from a place called purple haze and this was a lot of pain putting
the bar in it was a 14guage and much larger than the safety pin. the
threads to screw on the top ball kinda grab the inside of your tongue
and it hurts but its not as bad as it sounds, theres not much nerves in
the middle of the tongue. but its hard to find the safety pin holes and
you gotta poke the bar in the the smaller hole... it made me very
proud that i did it, but like i said its not for the faint of heart,
also i consulted the piercers afterwards and found out how to properly
care for my piercing.
