Hi there, I would like to add my personal experience of a vertical hood
piercing to your page! The following tells you what happened :o)
I had been thinking about having this piercing done for a long time but I
knew I wouldnt have the guts to go somewhere and let someone else do it!
Why a vertical hood piercing though? I dont know why myself but I wanted it
done!
I am lucky that I have a couple of good friends who are experienced piercers
and lots of friends who actually have the piercing already. Nobody though
had attempted to do it themselves which is what I intended to do. I asked
lots of questions, listened carefully and had lots of chats with people
about what they got from theirs. One thing I found out was that most people
seemed to have more than one. Perhaps that was because while there were
laying there spreadeagled then they might as well get them all done! I
decided that one would be enough for now!
Having obtained all the correct needles from a friend who also told me how
to do it I tucked everything away for a couple of weeks until I suddenly got
the nerve to go ahead with the piercing. I sat on the edge of my bed,
propped a mirror infront of me and took a deep breath! Positioning the
needle I started pushing and at that moment my legs started shaking like
there was no tomorrow!!! It didnt really hurt which suprised me after
reading the other report on this site. I carried on pushing through and
suddenly there was the tip of the needle showing through my skin. At this
point I just had to lay back on my bed for a breather! It didnt hurt but it
was stressful! The next thing I needed to do was push the plastic cathater
through and this did hurt just a bit! Mind you, I was concentrating so much
on what I was doing that I might just have blanked the pain out. When the
cathater was through I withdrew the needle, slid the jewellery through and
fastened it up.
No soreness, tenderness or anything!!!
That was 3 weeks ago now and I dont regret it for one instance! I will let
your imagination fill in those gaps but I think it was well worth it, as a
personal acheivement as well as a pleasurable one!!! It only took about 7
days to heal and I had to resist fiddling with it for that time but I am
glad I did!
